Smart City Khushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana Investment Region (KBNIR) is being developed as the first node of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) for which land acquisition is almost complete. The $100 billion DMIC project envisages developments within 150 km on both sides of the 1,483 km long freight corridor, 39% of which will pass through Rajasthan. The state will develop industrial clusters and multiple projects on both sides of corridor.

The corridor has been planned to create a strong economic base with internationally competitive environment and advanced infrastructure to boost domestic commerce, attract foreign investments and attain sustainable development. It is designed to reduce travel time between Delhi to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust in Mumbai significantly facilitating faster turnaround and enhanced exports.

Early bird projects that would come up in the node include aerotropolis near Tijara(Bhiwadi), knowledge city and a road link of 75m between Neemrana and Bhiwadi. Khushkhera-Bhiwadi-Neemrana area holds vast potential for robust growth in the near future. The development that started along NH-8 in Gurgaon has spread to Manesar, Dharuhera and now Bhiwadi, and is likely to go upto Alwar. The plan is to develop new manufacturing cities, logistical hubs and residential townships along the 1500 km stretch.
